The Rural Support Service (RSS) supports South Australian regional Local Health Networks (rLHNs) by delivering efficient and collaborative shared services that support innovation, enhance connectivity, streamline operations, and enable rLHNs to achieve their strategic goals.

As Executive Director, you will lead a statewide shared service that provides corporate, clinical and clinical support services to support the delivery of safe, effective and efficient healthcare across regional South Australia.

The RSS delivers services to:

  • Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network (BHFLHN)
  • Yorke and Northern Local Health Network (YNLHN)
  • Flinders and Upper North Local Health Network (FUNLHN)
  • Riverland Mallee Coorong Local Health Network (RMCLHN)
  • Eyre and Far North Local Health Network (EFNLHN)
  • Limestone Coast Local Health Network (LCLHN)

The RSS delivers value by reducing duplication, fostering collaboration, meeting customer expectations, and providing targeted advocacy and policy support at the request of regional LHNs. As part of BHFLHN, services are delivered through formalised service agreements with the six Regional LHNs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the efficient and effective delivery of corporate and enabling shared services across six Regional LHNs.
  • Drive operational efficiency by reducing duplication and maximising cost-effective service delivery.
  • Foster collaboration and shared learning across regional health networks.
  • Ensure services meet customer expectations and align with LHN strategic goals.
  • Provide targeted advocacy and act as a shared voice for regional health services when required.

About RSS

The RSS is a Directorate of BHFLHN and provides services throughout regional South Australia to support the six regional local health networks (LHNs). It employs around 260 people who work in 37 regional, rural and remote SA locations, or in the RSS’s three Adelaide offices. Many RSS staff enjoy working from home or remotely and benefit from the work-life balance this provides.
