About the Role

As a skilled occupational therapist, you will deliver services in our interdisciplinary hand therapy service working closely with the referring doctors or surgeons. You’ll deliver expert hand therapy assessment and interventions that restores movement, function and confidence. You’ll manage complex caseloads, build trusted patient links, and help shape quality care across hospital and outpatient settings. Key duties
The service provides hand therapy assessment and intervention to adult outpatients with a mix of acute trauma and chronic conditions of the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder.

This may include:

  • pre and post surgical assessment and treatment
  • hand injury management
  • custom made thermoplastic splints
  • compression garments
  • rehabilitation post injury or surgery
  • chronic hand condition management
  • scar, burn and oedema management.

The role has opportunities to support students, our rotational AHP2 staff and allied health assistants. You will also contribute to service quality, learning and improvement

About You

You’re a skilled Hand Therapy Occupational Therapist who brings sound judgement, clear communication and a patient-centred approach. You enjoy teamwork, adapt with ease and take pride in safe, high-quality care that delivers real outcomes.

• Degree in Occupational Therapy with OTBA registration

• Hand therapy experience and skills across acute, rehab and community care

• Strong upper limb assessment and evidence-based practice

• Clear communicator with sound judgement and teamwork focus

• Organised, adaptable and confident in fast paced settings
