Overview

Join Mount Gambier & Districts Health Service as an Administration Officer in our Chemotherapy/Oncology Unit and help deliver compassionate, efficient cancer care.

As the first point of contact for patients and families, you’ll manage appointment scheduling, admissions, referrals, and records with empathy and precision. Your role is vital in ensuring seamless service delivery in a high-sensitivity clinical environment. Working closely with nurses, doctors, and support staff, you’ll be part of a dedicated team making a real difference each day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule, register, and coordinate oncology appointments in iChemo and Sunrise
  • Manage patient admissions, referrals and medical records with confidentiality
  • Provide professional, friendly front-line service to patients and families
  • Ensure accurate communication between clinical and admin teams
  • Support efficient service delivery through proactive and organised admin support

What We’re Looking For

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and confidentiality
  • Proven admin experience, ideally in a health care setting
  • Confident using MS Office and clinical systems like Sunrise or iChemo
  • A team player who thrives in busy, people-focused environments
