WHAT ARE WE OFFERING?

This position offers the opportunity to work at the heart of organisational governance, supporting the Governing Board and Executive leadership in delivering strong governance outcomes. You will play a critical role in shaping decision-making processes, ensuring compliance, and maintaining transparency across BHFLHN.

You will gain exposure to strategic planning, policy development, and risk management while providing expert advice and high-level administrative and secretariat support. This role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to the organisation’s governance framework, engage with senior stakeholders, and provide your professional expertise in governance and compliance within a health setting.

WHO ARE WE?

The Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network offers opportunities across our sites, from Kangaroo Island to Eudunda, wrapping all the way around our metropolitan areas. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional care to all our consumers, residents, their families, and community. Our mission is to ensure that you always receive the best quality, safe, consistent, collaborative care and always with kindness. We do this by maintaining exceptional levels of care at all times supported by systems and processes that assure us of quality and safety of our staff and those we serve.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO:

  • Has demonstrated experience in governance, risk, compliance, or a related discipline within a complex organisation (health experience highly valued but not essential).
  • Has proven high level experience in board level or executive level governance and secretariat functions.
  • Can analyse complex information, provide clear, actionable advice, and maintain a high level of discretion and professionalism.
  • Thrives in environments where accuracy, structure, and relationship building are essential.
  • Is looking to advance their governance career in a role with visibility and strategic impact.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

  • Drive high quality governance outcomes across the Governing Board, Committees, and Executive leadership.
  • Lead the coordination of complex governance processes, including strategic agendas, papers, and minutes that influence high level decision making.
  • Strengthen BHFLHN’s governance integrity through oversight of decision registers, conflict of interest management, compliance reporting, and transparency mechanisms.
  • Monitor and interpret legislative, accreditation, and policy obligations to ensure network wide compliance.
  • Support the organisation’s strategic direction by contributing to governance frameworks, policy development, and risk and compliance systems.
  • Build strong working relationships with senior leaders and stakeholders, acting as a source of expert governance advice.

This is a role for someone who sees governance as a strategic enabler, not just as an administrative function.

WHAT WILL WE OFFER YOU IN RETURN?

At BHFLHN, not only will you be working in an environment surrounded by beautiful scenery and nature we see your work here as not just as a job, but an opportunity to extend, progress or consolidate your career with us. We therefore offer you opportunities to be supported in the following ways:

  • Salary package a range of benefits (including living expenses such as mortgage, rent, utility bills and groceries) up to $9,010 each FBT year + $2,650 for Meal Entertainment expenses each FBT year Click here more information
  • Access to generous leave provisions and professional development opportunities.
  • Support for you and your family via our free Employee Assistance Program.
  • Health and Fitness Benefits: Access to Fitness Passport, a discounted workplace health and fitness program available to BHFLHN staff and their families.
