About the role

Provides strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for Paediatric Palliative Care, overseeing nursing services, governance, workforce management, and innovation to deliver high-quality, holistic care for children with life-limiting illness across SA and the NT.

Key duties of the role

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership, clinical governance, and service direction for Paediatric Palliative Care.
  • Lead, manage, and support nursing staff, including line management of RN3 and RN4 roles.
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality, holistic, and individualised care for children with life-limiting illness across SA and the NT.
  • Coordinate innovation, research, safety, and quality improvement initiatives within the service and broader network.
  • Provide expert clinical leadership, assessment, education, and advice across interdisciplinary and community nursing teams.

Skills and Experience

  • State Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • Registered Nurse with at least 5 years post registration experience.
  • Experience as a senior leader or manager in health care.
  • Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation.
  • Experience in managing staff from various multidisciplinary backgrounds
