About the role

Registered Nurses and Midwives deliver person‑centred care, coordinate multidisciplinary services, support team leadership, and contribute to safety, quality improvement, and effective responses to challenging behaviours within the clinical setting.

Key duties of the role

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate OR
  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate OR
  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing consumer/client and family centred care.

Skills and Experience

  • Assess individual patient needs, plan, implement and coordinate service delivery
  • Provide direct person-centred nursing/midwifery care and individual case management
  • Contribute to procedures for effectively dealing with challenging behaviours
  • Provide health promotion and education to patients or groups and carers
  • Plan and coordinate services with other disciplines or agencies
