About the Role:

An exciting opportunity is available to join the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network as a Registered Nurse within our Anaesthetics team. These roles offer the chance to work in a modern, high‑performing perioperative environment, supporting patients through their surgical journey with skill, compassion and professionalism.

The perioperative suite at the Lyell McEwin Hospital contains:

  • theatre holding bay
  • 9 operating theatres
  • 1 procedure room
  • 18 bay recovery unit

We perform high acuity complex surgeries including, but not limited to, liver resections, major colorectal and upper GI surgery, major urology surgery, complex caesarean sections, bariatric surgery, major and trauma orthopaedics. Other types of procedures performed include gynaecology, plastics, ENT, paediatric, dental, ECT, gastroscopies and colonoscopies.

A significant volume of our procedures are emergency cases, and we are supported by a large HDU/ICU.

There may also be opportunities to support perioperative services at Modbury Hospital, with flexibility to work across both sites as required.

LMH anaesthetic nursing supports the NALHN Department of Anaesthesia, Pain and Perioperative Medicine. We provide anaesthetic cover 24/7 with an additional on-call commitment to support clinical demand out of business hours. As well as the specialities listed above, we also provide clinical support for a variety of remote areas including Gastroenterology and Bronchoscopy Suites, Cardiovascular Intervention Suite, Radiology and provides expert support during Code Airways.

To be eligible for this position, you must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
