Make a Difference in Lung Cancer Care - Respiratory Specialist Role with SA Health

Join SA Health as a Part-time, Ongoing Respiratory Specialist at Flinders Medical Centre, playing an integral role within the SALHN Thoracic Oncology and Interventional Pulmonology Team, working closely with key stakeholders to help deliver the National Lung Cancer Screening Program and the broader SALHN Lung Cancer and Lung Nodule program. This position offers the opportunity to deliver specialist respiratory care while contributing to groundbreaking lung cancer prevention and early detection initiatives across South Australia. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment, combining clinical excellence with professional development in one of Australia's leading health networks

About the role: 

Reporting to the Head of Unit, this role is responsible for providing clinical services of the highest possible standard to medicine patients within the Respiratory and Sleep Services, SALHN, both in terms of individual performance and by contributing to a multi
disciplinary approach to the delivery of patient care.

Duties for the role will include:

  • Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent. Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award,
  • Demonstrated high standard of clinical practice in Respiratory & Sleep Medicine,
  • Demonstrated professional integrity, leadership and motivational skills,
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team,
  • Demonstrated participation in approved continuing medical education since attaining specialist qualification,
  • Ability to perform advanced bronchoscopy (including linear and radial EBUS) & pleural procedures,
  • Experience with the supervision and teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff,
  • Extensive clinical experience relevant to work in Respiratory & Sleep Medicine
