Transform Health Data Into Action - Project Officer Role

Join SA Health's Clinical Monitoring Unit as a Project Officer, where you'll use your Microsoft SQL Server and SSRS expertise to provide the evidence that support our clinicians delivering critical healthcare within the Drug and Alcohol sector. This full-time contract position offers the opportunity to work with a clinical information system and a network of Addiction Psychiatrists, Doctors, Nurses, Allied Health and Community Workers delivering critical services to clients across South Australia’s metropolitan and regional areas. About the role: 

Reporting to the Manager, this role is responsible for managing internal reports (SSRS, MS Excel with Microsoft SQL Server or XML) and ad-hoc data extracts to support clinical decision-making within Drug and Alcohol Services.

Duties for the role will include:

  • Maintaining the integrity of the data through quality assurance standards (e.g. conducting audits, validation checks, system edits, backup routines),
  • Obtaining requirements for, and undertaking development of, standard and ad-hoc reports and ensure they are delivered within the agreed timeframes,
  • Converting existing reports from MS Excel to SSRS and ensure they perform optimally,
  • Contributing to the development and fostering of a positive work culture based on SA Health’s values, learning and development opportunities and safety and welfare requirements of employees

About you:

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a small team, including effective communication, both written and verbal, with peers and management,
  • Ability to plan and schedule work to achieve the required objectives within the set deadlines,
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal instructions,
  • Sound analytical, statistical, research and problem-solving skills,
  • Experience in working with relational databases such as SQL Server,
  • Experience in the use of report writing tools, such as SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) in Visual Studio (2018 or later) or Power Pivot in MS Excel,
  • Experience in the extraction, analysis and interpretation of statistical data,
  • Ability to develop positive working relationships with a wide range of personnel, both within and external to DASSA
