Join Our Team as an Associate Nurse Unit Manager - Lead and Support Excellence in Acute Care

About the Role:

As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) – Acute Services, you will provide nursing and/or midwifery care across a variety of health service settings, developing from competent to proficient practice. You will accept accountability for your own standards of care, delegate appropriately, and support the guidance and development of less experienced staff.

You will provide support to the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager (NUM/MUM) in the leadership and management of nurses and midwives within your ward, unit, or service. This includes undertaking a portfolio that:

  • Promotes continuity and consistency of care in collaboration with other ANUMs and the NUM/MUM.
  • Assists in the implementation of practice changes and service improvements.
  • Supports ward/unit/service management responsibilities, including performance management, recruitment, staffing, leave management, rostering, work allocation, attendance monitoring, and financial/supplies planning.

Your role will enable you to develop as a clinical leader while shaping the delivery of high-quality acute care services and fostering a positive, supportive environment for your team.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years post registration experience or currently classified as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife.
  • Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice.
  • Experience in the supervision of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses.

This is a part time vacancy, working 64 hours per fortnight and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked.
