About the role
As a Pathology Collector, you’ll play an important part in supporting high-quality laboratory services that benefit patients and clinical teams every day. Whether you join us as an OPS1 or OPS2, you’ll contribute to essential tasks including venepuncture, specimen collection, courier runs, sorting and accessioning samples, accurate data entry, and assisting with specimen preparation, storage and transport. At the OPS1 level, you’ll work under close direction with a strong focus on training and skill development, helping you build confidence in applying your growing knowledge. At the OPS2 level, you’ll bring established skills to the role and work under general direction, demonstrating your ability to operate responsibly and independently.

You’ll be a key point of contact for internal and external customers, managing enquiries with professionalism, care and clear communication. In this role, you’ll be part of a supportive, collaborative environment where your accuracy, attention to detail and commitment to safe, patient-centred service truly make a difference. About You

  • Sound organisational and problem-solving abilities, including the capacity to prioritise tasks, use initiative, and escalate issues appropriately.

  • Practical experience using information systems and databases, with OPS2 applicants also bringing knowledge of pathology laboratory operations and experience working with limited supervision.
