About the role

Lead and coordinate a child and adolescent mental health team, providing expert care, guidance, and multidisciplinary collaboration to ensure high-quality, evidence-based care, positive patient outcomes, and efficient service delivery.

Key duties of the role

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated, high-quality child and adolescent mental health care.
  • Provide expert clinical care including assessment, case management, and therapeutic interventions.
  • Ensure compliance with ethics, policy, risk management, quality frameworks, and culturally safe practices.
  • Develop staff capability through mentoring, education, reflective practice, and sharing evidence-based knowledge.

Skills and Experience

RN3 Position:

  • Registered Nurse with at least 3 years post registration experience
  • Highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated competence in delivering comprehensive mental health nursing assessment and direct clinical services to young people and their families.
  • Integration of information and evidence with personal experience to support decision making.

AHP3 Position:

  • Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, OR
  • Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification and general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia within an endorsed for clinical practice; OR
  • Appropriate degree of equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia
  • Highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Proven leader with experience to coordinating teams, ensuring high standards, motivating staff, and promoting collaborative decision-making.
