Are you passionate about delivering reliable, high-quality diagnostic pathology services? SA Pathology Regional Services is seeking a dedicated Laboratory Technical Officer to join our team in the beautiful coastal town of Wallaroo.

About the role 

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Technical Officer to join our dynamic team. This position is available at the TGO1 or TGO2 classification level, depending on your skills, experience, and qualifications. The role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the provision of a high-quality, multi-disciplined pathology service within a regional laboratory setting. Whether you are an experienced professional or someone looking to further develop your expertise, this role will allow you to apply your technical knowledge in a variety of meaningful ways, supporting operational, research, and project-based activities. As a key member of our team, you'll be involved in both independent tasks and collaborative projects, with the opportunity to lead and guide others at the TGO2 level.

As a Technical Officer, you'll perform a range of duties that demand a high level of technical expertise and judgement. At the TGO1 level, you'll apply your knowledge in accordance with standardised procedures, while at the TGO2 level, you'll take on supervisory responsibilities, provide reports, and offer recommendations on technical suitability for equipment, processes, and results. You’ll work closely with a variety of stakeholders, fostering relationships across teams, and contributing to the ongoing success and development of our laboratory’s operations.   • Educational qualifications: You will hold a Diploma or Advanced Diploma in an approved and recognised qualification.

  • Proven skills and experience: You have experience working within a team and general laboratory experience, with a good understanding of laboratory principles and practices.

  • Personal qualities: Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to handle sensitive information professionally, and a positive commitment to customer service.

  • Competence in tools and communication: Proficient in using computer software, able to communicate effectively (both oral and written), and skilled in numerical tasks and keyboarding.
