About the role

Provide expert clinical nursing care and leadership in the Paediatric Emergency Department/Emergency Extended Care Unit. Lead patient flow, coordinate care, implement policies, and support staff development. Collaborate with medical, nursing, allied health teams, and key stakeholders to ensure safe, effective, and seamless care.

Key duties of the role

  • Lead patient flow, ensuring timely assessment, care, and transfer
  • Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies
  • Implement and monitor policies, clinical protocols, and quality initiatives
  • Mentor, support, and develop nursing/midwifery staff and students
  • Analyse data, evaluate outcomes, and apply evidence to improve care

Skills and Experience

  • Registered Nurse with current AHPRA practicing certificate
  • Minimum 3 years post-registration experience in clinical nursing/midwifery
  • Proven leadership, change management, and staff development skills
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of contemporary nursing/midwifery practice, NSQHS Standards, and legislation
