About the role

Join the Surgical Services team as a Theatre Orderly, providing safe, high-quality patient and theatre support. Maintain equipment, transport patients, assist the team, and contribute to continuous improvement under RN supervision.

Key duties of the role

• Maintain theatre equipment, barouches, oxygen, and suction units to division standards
• Assist with patient transport, identification, lifting, positioning, and specimen handling
• Support theatre team through effective communication, stock management, and teamwork
• Follow safe work practices, OHSW guidelines, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Orient new staff and contribute to a cohesive, safe, and efficient theatre environment

Skills and Experience

• AQF Certificate III in a relevant field (essential)
• Strong verbal and written communication with staff and patients
• Team-focused with ability to work independently under supervision
• Understanding of confidentiality, patient safety, and OHSW practices
• Physically able, punctual, flexible, and accountable in a fast-paced environment
