Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) is eager to recruit an experienced Allied Health Professional to work in our dynamic, growing and supportive team, to help us deliver exceptional care to our community.

About the Role:

This role will report professionally and operationally to the Senior Discipline Manager for areas related to professional and operational matters and will also report to the Director of Clinical Operations for team management and service deliverables.

As the Allied Health Acute Medical Unit Coordinator, you will lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes within the Acute Medical Unit. You will provide expert oversight in complex case coordination and consultative services, supporting integrated assessment, care planning, service delivery and discharge coordination for eligible medical patients.

A key responsibility is to lead and support the team in implementing effective discharge planning aligned with the ‘Return Home First’ philosophy, ensuring patients experience safe and timely transitions back to their home environment. In this role you will foster a culture of collaboration, innovation and patient-centred care, contributing to continuous improvement in service delivery across the AMU Allied Health ward-based team.

To be eligible for this position, you must hold an appropriate degree or equivalent qualification for one of the following Allied Health disciplines working in the service, specifically:

  • Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
  • Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia.
  • Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
  • Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of Speech Pathology Australia.

You will possess demonstrated leadership and coordination experience and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team. Your strong clinical reasoning and communication skills are essential.
