Clinical Senior Social Worker – Violence, Abuse and Neglect – Lead Safe and Compassionate Services Across RMCLHN

Play a pivotal role in strengthening RMCLHN’s response to violence, abuse, and neglect by leading high-quality, safe, and consumer-focused services that protect vulnerable children, families, and communities.

About the Role:

The Clinical Senior Social Worker (Violence, Abuse and Neglect) is an experienced and highly competent clinician who delivers specialist services and provides clinical and professional leadership to health professionals working in rural and remote areas of South Australia. This role is responsible for driving the implementation of legislative reforms relevant to child protection and sexual, domestic, and family violence across RMCLHN, ensuring compliance with SA Health’s Safety Framework and the South Australian Government’s strategy for keeping families and children safe and well.

Working collaboratively with stakeholders, the Clinical Senior Social Worker ensures targeted and culturally appropriate screening, early intervention, and reporting systems are embedded across the network. They provide leadership in embedding best practice standards, delivering safe and consumer-focused services, and supporting training and education for staff across RMCLHN.

This role requires specialised expertise in responding to consumers at risk of violence, abuse, and neglect, with responsibility for leading service improvements, supporting vulnerable consumers, and, when required, delivering direct clinical services to families experiencing complex issues.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Must hold a recognised qualification within the Social Work Profession and be eligible for (full) membership of the Australian Association of Social Work. For self-regulated professions it is desirable to participate in the professional associations accredited continuing professional development program.
  • A higher qualification in a relevant area such as health service and/or project management, professional specialisation/clinical education will be highly regarded.
