Join our Allied Health Team as a Dietetic Assistant

As a Dietetic Allied Health Assistant in SALHN, you’ll support the Dietetics & Nutrition team in delivering specialised dietary care to patients across Flinders Medical Centre and Noarlunga Hospital. Working under Allied Health Supervision, you’ll prioritise tasks to assist with the provision of therapeutic diets, assisting to mitigate risk with patients’ meal orders, cross checking for patient food allergies and intolerances several times/day and supporting patients at risk of malnutrition.

You’ll collaborate closely with Food Service, nursing staff, and patients, helping maintain smooth communication and service delivery within the Dietetics & Nutrition Department—a key part of the hospital’s Allied Health Division. You’ll report any major issues to the Senior Food Service Dietitian and may be required to work across seven days to meet patient needs.

About you:

  • Certificate 3 as a Allied Health Assistant or have equivalent experience and training
  • Clear aptitude for working in a healthcare setting and with people from a variety of cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds
  • Desirable training completed in food and nutrition
  • Experience in Computer skills, emails and digital programs
  • Proven experience in delivering high quality and safe care consistent with the National Safety and Quality Health Care Service Standards.
