We are seeking an AHP1 Occupational Therapist to join our growing subacute team!

The Occupational Therapist in this role is responsible for providing Occupational Therapy services to inpatients and outpatients which results in safe and timely discharge, and improved independence and occupational outcomes for patients. This full-time contract position in our Rehabilitation, Aged and Palliative Care Division offers hands-on experience alongside expert clinicians in a supportive environment until March 2026. Rotations may be located at Flinders Medical Centre, Repat Health Precinct or Noarlunga Hospital.

About the role: 

Reporting to the Director, Occupational Therapy, some of your duties for the role will include:

  • Assessing the client's occupational abilities, problems and needs using a variety of formal and informal assessments
  • Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and participating in quality and service improvement activities within the team
  • Assisting with teaching activities including the training of Occupational Therapy students
  • Referring to and liaising with relevant community resources and services

About you:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia
  • Organisational skills including the ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines, delegate appropriately and demonstrate initiative
  • Ability to communicate with clients and a range of professional and other staff, orally and in writing, including in the provision of supervision to Allied Health Assistants and volunteers as required
  • Experience in the provision of clinical Occupational Therapy services to clients with a range of illness and disabilities relevant to older people and rehabilitation
