Clinical Leadership Opportunity - Associate Nurse Unit Manager, Endocrine Research

Join Southern Adelaide Local Health Network as an Associate Nurse Unit Manager in our specialised Endocrine Research unit. This part-time contract position offers the opportunity to combine clinical nursing leadership with cutting-edge research coordination until June 2027. You will support the management of endocrine research operations while providing clinical guidance to staff and ensuring excellence in patient care within research protocols.

About the role: 

Reporting to the Clinical Research Manager, this role is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day management of endocrine research operations while providing clinical leadership and coordinating patient care within research protocols. Southern Adelaide Diabetes & Endocrine Services (Level 2 ANUM) acts as a highly skilled clinical nurse in the area of Clinical Trials Coordination and Diabetes Education, providing high quality diabetes education to supplement or enhance protocol guidelines and ensure that the volunteer with diabetes has relevant information / education so that informed decisions on self-management can be made.

Duties for the role will include:

  • Lead, develop and foster a positive work culture which is based on SA Public Sector and SALHN values and promotes patient / client focussed service, learning and development, safety and welfare of employees,
  • Assists and supports the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager or equivalent in management, clinical, and education activities,
  • Plan and coordinate services including those from other disciplines,
  • Participate in clinical teaching, overseeing learning experience, and goal setting for students, new staff and staff with less experience,
  • Demonstrating a knowledge of and commitment to participants rights and responsibilities in the clinical trial setting

About you:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate,
  • Demonstrated competence in Clinical Trial management and diabetes nursing practice in accordance with the relevant standards,
  • Experience in the leadership and direction of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses,
  • Completion or working towards an accredited Diabetes Educators Course,
  • Higher degree qualification in nursing or related discipline
