About the role

As a Costing Analyst with SA Pathology, you’ll play a key role in shaping the financial insights that support critical healthcare services across South Australia. Working within Statewide Clinical Support Services, you’ll be responsible for delivering accurate and timely service costing information, undertaking detailed financial analysis, and contributing to non-financial performance reporting. You’ll ensure sound financial controls are in place, prepare monthly reconciliations, and provide clear, data-driven insights that support decision-making and service improvement.

You’ll collaborate with colleagues across finance and clinical teams, monitor and review financial accounts, and take on special projects in your assigned areas of responsibility. The Costing Analyst works within SA Pathology, Statewide Clinical Support Services and is responsible for the provision of accurate and timely service costing information, undertaking financial analysis, contributing to the production of non-financial performance reports, ensuring appropriate financial controls are in place and preparing monthly reconciliations.
In this capacity the position contributes to financial performance and financial account monitoring and reviews and undertakes special project work in the specific assigned areas of responsibility.

  • Analytical and solutions-oriented – experienced in problem solving, data analysis, and developing accurate costing models to support informed decision-making.

  • Technically proficient – confident in the use of relational databases and reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, SAP or similar, with strong knowledge of costing and accounting practices.

  • Adaptable and organised – capable of managing multiple priorities, working under limited direction, and responding positively to new information and change in a fast-paced environment.
