Overview:

The Operations Manager reports to the Mental Health Commissioner and leads the operational oversight and performance delivery functions of the Office of the Mental Health Commissioner (OMHC). The primary purpose of the Operations Manager is to ensure the provision of an efficient, timely, and effective operational output from the Office of the Mental Health Commissioner and the management of OMHC staff. The role ensures the management of productive and effective functioning of the office through governance, financial stewardship, people management, risk oversight, and systems integration. It plays a pivotal role in aligning strategic objectives with operational capacity, while cultivating a collaborative, inclusive and psychologically safe workplace culture

  • Small, high-impact team: you’ll be across everything—planning, budgets, procurement/contracts, risk/governance, records/info management, HR coordination and reporting.
  • Highly experienced operator: confident with complex public-sector environments; can prioritise, problem-solve and deliver at pace with limited guidance.

  • Process improver: simplify and standardise ways of working; use data to drive decisions and continuous improvement.
  • People enabler: coach others to lift operational capability and support professional development across a small team.
