Are you an enthusiastic Allied Health Assistant looking to join a highly experienced interdisciplinary Allied Health team? 

The Allied Health Assistant provides assistance and support to the Acute Ambulatory Allied Health (AAH) team in the delivery of Allied Health services to patients/clients in their own home or at GP Plus sites under the supervision of an Allied Health Professional (AHP).

About the role: 

Reporting to the Ambulatory Allied Health Service Manager as the Allied Health Assistant you will be required to manage a busy workload and competing demands and provide support to the team.

Duties for the role will include:

  • Monitoring patient response to therapies and reporting to the supervising AHP
  • Accurately maintain therapy related databases and patient documentation under the explicit direction of the supervising AHP
  • Provide comprehensive education to patients/groups of patients as directed by AHP staff on a defined range of topics
  • Assisting patient preparation for therapy and at the conclusion of therapy
  • Delivery of equipment to patients, that has been prescribed by an AHP

About you:

  • Sound time management, organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment to assist patient therapy and / or handling of patient related equipment and devices 
  • Certificate 4 in Allied Health Assistance, or equivalent
  • Proven experience in delivering high quality and safe care consistent with the National Safety and Quality Health Care Service Standards
