WHAT ARE WE OFFERING?

Join the Central Sterilising Supply Department (CSSD) with Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network as a CSSD Technician in our casual and temporary employment pool. This is a great opportunity to gain experience across multiple sites, supporting sterilisation services that are essential to patient safety and quality care. Working as part of a collaborative team, you’ll perform a variety of sterilising duties, ensuring that equipment and instruments are decontaminated, packaged, sterilised, and available for clinical use. 

Please note: applicants can choose to work at one, or multiple sites within Sterilisation Facilities across Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network.

We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic Sterilisation Technicians to join the Central Staffing Casual Pool at the Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network and work in one or more of our diverse health units located in:

  • Mount Barker
  • Kangaroo Island
  • Victor Harbor
  • Gawler
  • Kapunda
  • Angaston

Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network (BHFLHN) encompasses 40% of the population of country South Australia, including the Barossa, Gawler district, Adelaide Hills, Southern Fleurieu and Kangaroo Island.

The region is an area of significant population growth for South Australia. Our sites and services are located at Mt Barker, Gawler, Victor Harbor (Southern Fleurieu), Strathalbyn, Kingscote, Mt Pleasant, Angaston, Tanunda, Gumeracha, Eudunda and Kapunda. The LHN has 11 public hospitals, 6 aged care facilities and an extensive range of community-based services.

HOW WILL YOU CONTRIBUTE?

  • Perform decontamination, cleaning, preparation, and packaging of medical instruments in line with policies and infection control standards.
  • Operate and monitor sterilising equipment, reporting faults and ensuring compliance with safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records, manage stock and supplies, and contribute to efficient workflow within CSSD.
  • Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to support patient care and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
