About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Nursing and Midwifery & Consumer Experience team as Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM), where you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering and overseeing high-quality, person-centred nursing care, supporting the clinical needs of clients and mentoring team members.
  • Providing day-to-day leadership and guidance, ensuring continuity of care and professional development within the nursing team.
  • Supporting the Regional Team Manager with operational responsibilities including rostering, staffing, performance management, and resource planning.
  • Contributing to education and training, fostering a positive learning environment for students and less experienced staff.
  • Engaging in quality improvement and research, integrating evidence-based practice and participating in audits and service evaluations.

 

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Registered Nurse or Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, holding or eligible for a current practicing certificate.
  • Minimum of 3 years post-registration nursing experience or currently classified as a Clinical Nurse.
  • Proven competence in relevant nursing practice standards and experience supervising students and junior staff.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams, prioritize workload, and work independently.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, quality improvement systems, and contemporary nursing/midwifery healthcare issues.
