About the Role

We’re looking for passionate and compassionate Social Workers to join our dynamic team at CALHN, working within a multidisciplinary environment that supports individuals living with complex health challenges. Whether you're an early-career clinician (AHP1) or bring a wealth of experience (AHP2), this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of patients and their families through evidence-based social work practice. You'll provide assessment, intervention, counselling, and education to support psycho-social wellbeing, while actively contributing to ward rounds, case discussions, and community liaison.

At the AHP1 level, you will focus on developing your clinical skills and knowledge while working collaboratively to support patients and their families across the health network. At the AHP2 level, you’ll take on a leadership role—supporting less experienced clinicians, contributing to service development, and helping shape best practice approaches. Regardless of level, you'll be part of a dedicated, supportive team committed to person-centred care, continuous improvement, and improving quality of life for those we serve.

About You

You’re a compassionate and skilled Social Worker who brings empathy, professionalism, and initiative to every interaction. Whether you're starting your career (AHP1) or have a strong foundation in complex clinical settings (AHP2), you are committed to delivering person-centred care and contributing meaningfully within a multidisciplinary team.

  • Eligible for full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong interpersonal skills

  • Organised, adaptable and capable of delivering timely, quality outcomes

  • Confident working across diverse settings, patient needs, and clinical complexity

At the AHP1 level, you're supported to grow your practice in a structured, team-based environment. At the AHP2 level, you're an experienced clinician confident in managing complex caseloads and mentoring others. In either role, your dedication to ethical, inclusive, and effective care makes you a valuable part of the CALHN team.
