  • Base Salary Range: $58,709 - $63,154 p.a (pro rata)
  • In addition to base salary, this position attracts Superannuation, Leave Loading, and Salary Sacrificing Benefits (salary packaging).

Service:

Community Mental Health Team

The Community Mental Health Teams are located at both Port Augusta and Whyalla, providing specialised one-to-one counselling, group work, care coordination and health promotional activities to promote mental, emotional, physical, and social health and wellbeing. Workers provide information, education, counselling and support to adults, families and carers whose lives are affected by mental health issues. There are also specialist youth mental health clinicians based in the region and access to specialist older persons mental health services.

About the Role:

Join our dedicated team as a Mental Health Support Worker and make a real difference in the lives of individuals on their recovery journey. You’ll play a vital role in delivering a wide range of evidence-based, recovery-focused services within the dynamic Flinders and Upper North Local Health Network Mental Health (LHN MH). Your support will be tailored to meet the unique needs of each consumer and the local community.

Working alongside experienced clinicians, you’ll provide compassionate, hands-on psychosocial support across community, acute, and rehabilitation settings. As a key advocate for recovery and wellness, you’ll empower consumers and collaborate with service providers to promote understanding and active engagement in rehabilitation.

In this rewarding role, your practical assistance will directly contribute to helping consumers achieve their personal goals outlined in their care plans, ensuring meaningful progress every day. About You:

  • Experience in reporting to and liaising with multiple stakeholders across the spectrum of community services or health.
  • Experience in working with people who have health and/or mental health related issues.
  • Experience in working within a community services team environment and successful participation in such a setting.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office software packages including word processing, desktop publishing, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal consumers.

Applicant Information:

  • This is a part time vacancy, working 37.5 hours per fortnight and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked.
