Overview:

The Department for Health and Wellbeing (DHW) Agency Security Adviser is accountable to the DHW Deputy Agency Security Executive, and responsible for leading the development and monitoring compliance with the South Australian Protective Security Framework (SAPSF) and for the provision of effective specialist security advice and, security emergency management to Agency Executive’s and DHW business units

The Agency Security Adviser will proactively provide DHW specialist advice on continuous improvement of security protection for workforce resources and assets including built infrastructure, ICT and Biomedical Equipment in light of increasing complexities of risk threats across the portfolio; will work closely with other directorates including the IT Security Adviser’s to ensure relative protective security requirements are imbedded in relevant systems, policies, and procedures. The Agency Security Adviser will be responsible for the development of relevant policies, procedures, and manuals, assessing trends and advising risks in ongoing incidents, reporting and training of staff with regards to their obligations under the Security framework including reporting through Safety Learning System. Furthermore, the ASA will be responsible of the obligations associated with the SAPSF and Security of Critical Infrastructure Act 2018.

The Agency Security Adviser will provide expert advice, consultation and leadership and strategic engagement, and ensure efficient operational management in relation to corporate security for Department for Health and Wellbeing, encompassing the provision of:

  1. Security Governance
  2. Information Security
  3. Personnel Security
  4. Physical Security
