Join our Cardiology Team as a Research Fellow! 

Cardiac services at FMC has a close affiliation with the Flinders University of South Australia. The department runs an advanced training program in cardiology, recognised by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and has a number of sub-specialty fellowships including interventional cardiology, heart failure and cardiac imaging.

About the role: 

The Research Fellowship is a research position within the Cardiology Department, Flinders Medical Centre. The objective of this position is to provide training and experience in management and participation in Clinical Trials across the spectrum of Cardiology.   

Duties for this role may include:

  • Ensure the provision of high quality professional medical care to patients in Clinical trials,
  • Assist in the organisation and efficient management of cardiovascular diseases,
  • Supervise and teach medical students, postgraduate internal medicine trainees and other staff as specified by the head of the unit and/or Division,
  • Contribute to the development of an integrated team approach and culture which is highly responsive to the needs of our consumers.

As per the SMOEA 2022, the total term of employment with SA Health will be 3 years. Rotations following the initial 12-month allocation as Advanced Trainee will be determined in line with your training and SA Health’s requirements. This may include transfer to other SA Health locations to perform work appropriate to classification, skills, and capabilities.

About you:

  • Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent,
  • Registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration,
  • Demonstrated ability and interest in clinical research,
  • Experience in cardiac investigations including ECG reporting, Holter monitor reporting.
