Overview

SA Health is seeking an experienced and dedicated Nurse Unit Manager to oversee Nursing Services for Community Nursing within the Eyre and Far North Local Health Network (EFNLHN). Based in Port Lincoln, this pivotal role will support and enhance patient care within the EFNLHN Port Lincoln Community Health unit.

As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will be responsible for the leadership and operational management of a diverse range of nursing programs and services, including Outpatient Services, Hospital Avoidance Services, Palliative Care Services, Diabetes Services, Breast Care Services, Prostate Care Services, Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehabilitation Services, Chronic Disease Services, Pain Specialist Services, Restorative Care, Aged Care Assessment Program, and Country Health Connect Nursing Services.

Your primary focus will be to ensure the delivery of high-quality nursing care that aligns with the Department of Health Framework, SA Department of Health and Wellbeing (DHW), and the Eyre and Far North Local Health Network's strategic directions. This includes contributing to planning, achieving service delivery KPIs, reporting and evaluating nursing programs, working across Government and communities to provide coordinated and integrated services, directing resources to ensure access and equity for those in greatest need, and continually improving the quality and safety of services to achieve Aged Care, National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), and National Safety and Quality Health Service standards (NSQHS).

Additionally, you will work closely with the nursing team and other stakeholders on models of care and workforce initiatives, leveraging your clinical knowledge and experience to provide support services in areas such as staffing methodologies, recruitment and selection, human resource management, financial administration, patient flow, resource management, accreditation, risk management processes, and information systems management.

To be successful in this role, you must be a Registered Nurse or eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, holding or eligible to hold a current practicing certificate.
