About the Role

Are you ready to be part of a team that makes a real difference in the day-to-day lives of others? As a Catering Assistant at the TQEH Mental Health Campus, you’ll play a key role in delivering a high-quality food and beverage service to our consumers. In this varied and rewarding role, you'll take on responsibilities across multiple areas of the service including assisting with stock ordering and administration, preparing and distributing meals, and contributing to food preparation and cooking—particularly in areas such as hot breakfast service, salad and sandwich preparation, and managing ingredients and stores. Reporting to the Senior Supervisor and working closely with the Food Service and Contract Manager, you'll collaborate with a supportive team of health ancillary staff, clinical and allied health professionals to ensure nutritious and delicious meals are delivered with care and efficiency.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring a positive attitude, a passion for food service, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment. While formal qualifications are not required, your skills and experience will help you hit the ground running and make a real impact.

  • Proven experience in a catering or food service environment, with a sound understanding of food safety and handling requirements.
  • Strong communication and numeracy skills, with the ability to follow instructions and maintain accurate records.
  • Well-developed organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively in a busy kitchen environment.
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality service with attention to detail and a focus on supporting the needs of consumers.
