About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Division Paediatric Medicine as a Nurse Unit Manager, where you will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating patient/client care delivery within a Health Unit or Community Service using clinical knowledge and experience.
  • Providing line management, leadership, and coordination of nursing/midwifery and/or multidisciplinary team activities.
  • Ensuring continuity and quality of patient/client care and outcomes.
  • Accepting accountability for nursing and/or multidisciplinary practice outcomes within the designated setting.
  • Identifying and addressing inconsistencies between current practices and established policies.
  • Developing team performance and fostering a positive work culture to support improved patient/client outcomes.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • Registered Nurses with at least 3 years post registration experience
  • Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the relevant standards
  • Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to review and improve models of care to be person and family centred
