About the Role

We are seeking passionate and driven Clinical Research Fellows in Medical Oncology to join our dedicated team at Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN). In this dynamic training position, you will play a key role in the clinical management of patients, with a particular focus on those participating in clinical trials. Working closely with Consultant Medical Oncologists and Clinical Trial Unit staff, you'll contribute to high-quality inpatient and ambulatory care, while actively supporting the supervision and development of intern medical staff. This role provides a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of cancer research, where your clinical expertise will directly support the advancement of innovative treatments and therapies.

This is an exciting chance to work at the intersection of cutting-edge science and compassionate patient care. You'll engage with external partners including clinical research organisations, pharmaceutical groups, and collaborative trial networks, building valuable experience and relationships in the wider research community. The role offers a rewarding blend of clinical responsibility and academic involvement, with the challenge of maintaining trial enrolment and oversight alongside experienced consultants. If you’re motivated by contributing to world-class research and improving outcomes for oncology patients, we invite you to be part of our collaborative and purpose-driven team.

About You

You are a dedicated and capable medical professional with a strong foundation in oncology and a passion for advancing clinical research. Your collaborative spirit, adaptability, and commitment to high standards of care will see you thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment. With a solid grasp of clinical governance and research protocols, you are ready to contribute meaningfully to both patient outcomes and medical innovation.

To be successful in the role you will:

  • Demonstrate Clinical Excellence and Integrity: Demonstrated high standard of clinical practice, professional integrity, and ability to adapt to change while contributing to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Be a Strong Communicator and Team Player: Proven ability to work within a multidisciplinary team, with excellent verbal and written communication, documentation skills, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Have a Research-Focused Mindset: Understanding of clinical research principles, including Good Clinical Practice (GCP), with desirable experience in clinical research programs and the publication or presentation of research outcomes.
