About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Technical Officer (TGO 1) to contribute to the delivery of high-quality, multi-disciplinary pathology services in a regional laboratory setting. In this role, you will apply your technical expertise and experience to perform a variety of laboratory activities, ensuring accurate and efficient pathology services. You will work both independently and as part of a team, following standardised practices and procedures while maintaining high professional standards.

As a Technical Officer, you will also have the opportunity to participate in technical project work, applying your knowledge and skills to support innovation and continuous improvement within the laboratory. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for laboratory science, seeking to develop expertise in pathology and contribute to essential healthcare services.

About You

We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically skilled Technical Officer to support high-quality pathology services in a regional laboratory. To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Strong Technical & Laboratory Skills – Demonstrated technical expertise in laboratory science, with experience in analytical methodologies and handling laboratory equipment.

• Pathology & Data Entry Experience – Previous experience working in a pathology laboratory, with proficiency in data entry to ensure accuracy and efficiency in laboratory operations.

• Effective Communication & Teamwork – Ability to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, contributing to a collaborative and professional laboratory environment.

• Knowledge of Laboratory Standards & Compliance – Understanding of laboratory principles, accreditation requirements, Work Health & Safety (WHS) regulations, and privacy legislation relevant to pathology services.
