Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN)

  • Royal Adelaide Hospital, Orthopaedic Surgery Team 
  • MDP2 $99,707 to $158,523 p.a. + super + salary packaging 
  • Full-time, temporary role for 12 months (July 2028 - June 2029)
  • Term of the Contract: 3 years or until working visa expiry date (in line with clause 55 of the Salaried Medical Officers Enterprise Agreement).  At the end of the temporary role, CALHN will work with the employee to assist find a suitable placement within SA Health for the remainder of the 3-year contract, if necessary.

About the Role

Join our team as a Complex Trauma Fellow and build your clinical expertise in trauma and orthopaedic surgery. You’ll manage inpatient and outpatient care, support junior doctors, contribute to research and teaching, and help drive quality improvement.

  • Deliver safe, high-quality care under consultant supervision
  • Manage inpatient and outpatient clinical care
  • Support, teach and mentor junior medical staff
  • Lead research projects, audits and quality reviews
  • Contribute to after-hours care, teaching and service improvement

About You

We’re looking for a surgeon who brings sound clinical skills, a collaborative approach and a commitment to learning and patient care.

  • MBBS or equivalent and eligible for AHPRA registration
  • Demonstrated surgical clinical skills appropriate to the role
  • Experience supervising, supporting and teaching junior doctors
  • Strong communication, negotiation and complaint resolution skills
  • Knowledge of hospital systems, policies and clinical services
