Join our Executive Nursing & Midwifery Team

Work closely with the Hospital Coordinators to provide a high level of administrative support including the auditing and managing the activity of 90+ casual nurses based at Noarlunga Hospital. This role is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the casual nursing pool and related recruitment, selection and human resource management.

About the role: 

Reporting to the Nurse Manager, this role is responsible for the coordination of an efficient and effective administrative service to the Corporate Nursing staff at Noarlunga Hospital in accordance with the departments policies, procedures, and service objectives.

Duties for the role will include:

  • Responsible for the proficient use of the Pro-Act rostering system.
  • Exercise initiative and judgement whilst attending to phone calls or face to face, evaluating urgency and where appropriate initiating action on urgent matters, or redirecting to appropriate staff members.
  • Proactively attending to verbal or written enquiries/requests from internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organisation and the public.
  • Maintenance of diaries/calendars and appointments for the office as required.
  • Responsible for ensuring casual pool nurses and bank nurses are communicated with regarding adhering to new processes and policies.
  • Providing proficient administrative leadership and/or individual support to nursing employees and nursing managers requiring the assistance of the Corporate Nursing unit.
  • Liaising with managers with recommendations for improvements and streamlining practices.

About you:

  • Extensive experience in providing high level administrative assistance to senior managers.
  • Experience using electronic databases with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise and plan workloads in accordance with relative needs and merits of competing demands.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact positively to a wide range of audiences.
  • A resourceful and resilient personality with an approachable manner.
  • Attention to detail, ability to work efficiently and effectively and contribute to a team effort.
  • Ability to work independently with no direct supervision and achieve outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple changing, processes simultaneously, efficiently, and effectively.
