About the role

The AHP2 Social Worker delivers evidence-based social work, counselling, advocacy and support services to individuals aged 16 years and over who have experienced sexual assault. The role also contributes to education, training, research, stakeholder engagement, service development, and the maintenance of accurate client records to support high-quality, client-centred service delivery.

Key duties of the role

• Ensure the delivery of comprehensive social work and counselling services for people of all genders, 16 years and over, and who have experienced rape or sexual assault
• Build and maintain relevant and effective partnerships that enable a collaborative approach to improving health outcomes
• Contribute to a positive and respectful workplace by delivering training, providing consultancy services, and supporting projects that align with the organisation’s strategic objectives.
• Contribute to professional development, service planning and evaluation, and support research initiatives to enhance counselling and social work services.
• Participate in quality management, quality assurance, risk management activities and the ongoing improvement of systems, services and work practices

Skills and Experience

• Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
• Demonstrated experience in trauma-informed counselling, including crisis intervention and long-term therapeutic support.
• Proven ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams within high-pressure and crisis environments.
• Strong knowledge of sexual violence frameworks, client rights, and relevant legal, ethical, and WHS requirements.
