About the Role:

This is a leadership opportunity for an experienced clinician to coordinate and drive high-quality consumer care within a Mental Health Unit and/or Community Service. In this role, you will lead and support nursing and multidisciplinary teams, ensuring safe, consistent, and person-centred care delivery while overseeing local service coordination and resource management. You will play a key role in shaping team performance, strengthening clinical practice, and improving outcomes for consumers in a complex and rewarding practice environment.

What We're Looking For:

Essential Criteria 

  • Registered Nurse with Nurse Practitioner registration (or eligibility) and a Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 3 years’ post-registration experience with demonstrated competence in mental health nursing within a multidisciplinary service environment.
  • Proven leadership experience with strong communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and change management skills, including working independently and contributing to senior decision-making.
  • Experience in service management, including human and financial resource management, and a demonstrated ability to lead teams and improve service delivery outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge of mental health legislation, national standards, Aboriginal health needs, and culturally safe practice, with experience engaging Aboriginal consumers and communities.

Desired Criteria 

  • Tertiary qualifications (Graduate Diploma or Master level) in mental health practice, health service management, or a related field are highly regarded.
  • Senior clinical and management experience, including leading teams, managing complex change, and overseeing financial, human, and asset resources within a healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of health systems and governance, including the South Australian public health system, accreditation and quality processes, strategic planning, and use of clinical/management information systems.
