Are you ready to make a difference in a dynamic and vital environment? Join our Emergency Department team and play a key role in delivering top-notch administrative support during crucial moments.

As a Medical Records Clerk - Emergency Department Admission, you'll be responsible for registering emergency and elective admissions, supporting the Emergency Department, and managing incoming communications via the afterhours Switchboard. Your ability to prioritise tasks will be critical in ensuring the smooth flow of vital information and services. In addition, you'll take prompt action to ensure security and safety protocols are followed, providing vital assistance to the Emergency Department Nurse and Nurse Co-ordinator.

This casual position requires flexibility, as you'll cover both unexpected and planned leave, with shifts across a 24-hour period, 7 days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Register emergency and elective admissions in a timely manner.
  • Manage afterhours phone lines, handling incoming, outgoing, and internal calls.
  • Assist with monitoring safety alarms and following procedures.
  • Support the Emergency Department in ensuring staff are contacted for afterhours call-backs.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a high standard Medical Records System.

  • Proven team player, with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work under pressure, handling challenging situations with professionalism.
  • Solid computer skills, with proven data entry ability.
  • Experience in customer service, conflict resolution, and administrative duties.
