WHAT ARE WE OFFERING?    

Bring your Work Health & Safety knowledge and leadership experience to this exciting role as WHS Team Leader withing the Rural Support Service. Working under the Manager – Work Health & Safety and Injury Management you will be responsible for managing the mandated SA Health WHS&IM Framework across regional Local Health Networks and the Rural Support Service. The role provides leadership and support to Senior WHS Consultants, partnering with rLHN WHS teams to develop, implement, monitor and continuously improve WHS systems that identify, assess and control risk. 

You will help deliver operational WHS services to the RSS, including emergency management and security functions, working closely with the Injury Management team, the role supports initiatives to reduce work‑related injury, workers compensation claims and associated costs, while promoting best‑practice WHS and a strong safety culture. 

  

WHO ARE WE?  

The RSS is a business unit in SA Health and provides services throughout regional South Australia to support the six regional local health networks (LHNs). It employs around 260 people who work in 37 regional, rural and remote SA locations, or in the RSS's three Adelaide offices.

HOW WILL YOU CONTRIBUTE?

  • Lead and oversee the implementation of best‑practice WHS and Injury Management systems across rLHNs and the Rural Support Service.  
  • Support and guide WHS consultants, partnering with stakeholders to manage risk and improve safety outcomes.  
  • Manage WHS governance, audits, reporting, and consultative committee processes.  
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen safety culture, reduce work‑related injury, and support workforce wellbeing.
