About the Role:

The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Northern Mental Health team. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals requiring specialist psychiatric care across hospital and community settings.

As a Consultant Psychiatrist - Consultation Liaison, you will play a central role in delivering expert assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning. Your clinical leadership and compassionate approach will support patients through complex mental health presentations, while enhancing the quality of care delivered across the broader health network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • provide specialist psychiatric care and consultation across acute, subacute and community settings
  • lead multidisciplinary care planning to ensure coordinated and evidence-based treatment
  • drive continuous quality improvement and maintain the highest standards of clinical safety
  • mentor and support trainee medical officers, junior doctors and students
  • collaborate with medical teams to optimise patient outcomes and integrated care pathways
  • contribute to education programs and professional development activities

To be eligible for this position, you must hold a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent. Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.

The Total Indicative Remuneration figure is calculated taking into account base salary, leave loading and superannuation as well as managerial allowances, professional development or any other allowances where appropriate.
