Appointment to this position will be at either AHP1 or AHP2 classification, commensurate with the applicant’s level of professional experience, demonstrated competence, and capacity to perform with increasing independence, clinical judgement, and complexity of practice as outlined in the role requirements. 

  

WHAT ARE WE OFFERING? 

Join our Casual Pool within the Community Aged Care Team as an Occupational Therapist and choose your hours! 

As a Casual Occupational Therapist you will provide client-centred, goal-oriented care to older people within the Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network as part of a multidisciplinary Community Reablement team. The role focuses on supporting older adults across clinic, home, and residential settings to maintain and improve independence, reduce functional decline, and achieve meaningful goals through evidence-based, outcome-focused interventions aligned with Commonwealth aged care programs. 

You will have the opportunity to work across hospital avoidance, dementia care, and healthy ageing service streams, the Occupational Therapist delivers targeted reablement interventions that address a range of complex conditions including frailty, cognitive impairment, falls risk, and chronic health issues. Operating with increasing clinical autonomy, the role also contributes to supervision, team development, and collaborative care planning to strengthen workforce capability and ensure high-quality, integrated service delivery.

HOW WILL YOU CONTRIBUTE? 

You will.......... 

  • Deliver client-centred, goal-oriented Occupational Therapy services to older people under Commonwealth funded aged care programs, using a wellness and reablement approach across home, clinic, and community settings.  
  • Undertake comprehensive assessment, intervention, and care coordination within a multidisciplinary team, supporting complex caseloads including discharge planning, referrals, and ongoing goal-based rehabilitation.  
  • Contribute to clinical leadership through supervision of allied health assistants and students, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and participation in service planning, education, and professional networks.  
  • Ensure accurate documentation, reporting, and compliance with organisational, funding, and clinical governance requirements, including data collection, statistics, and use of relevant systems and policies.  
  • Support continuous service improvement through participation in quality improvement, research, program development, and evaluation activities to enhance outcomes for older people and strengthen service delivery.
