WHAT ARE WE OFFERING?
Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network (BHFLHN) is seeking a Consultant in General Medicine to provide high-quality specialist services at Southern Fleurieu General Medicine Inpatient Department on a temporary part-time basis until August 2026, with the possibility of extension beyond this period.
This role offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team working together to ensure our consumers receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time.
With growing demand for services, this is an excellent opportunity to work within a small, supportive team that offers a high degree of professional autonomy. The successful applicant will have scope to develop outpatient clinics or expand site-based services in an area of clinical interest.

- Provide timely assessment, treatment, and management for patients needing specialist general medicine inpatient care at the Southern Fleurieu Health Service.
- Provide clinical leadership, supervision and education to medical staff and students.
- Contribute to service planning, quality improvement, research and clinical governance activities.

WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED TO KNOW/WHAT IS ESSENTIAL FOR SUCCESS?

- You will need to undergo employment screening, what you require is also on the front page of the Role Description.
- You must have a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent.
- You must have appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical.
- You must be a practitioner with Specialist General Medicine registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.
