WHAT ARE WE OFFERING?
This role offers the opportunity to support Enrolled and Registered Nurses/Midwives in the delivery of general patient/client care while undertaking basic nursing duties within your scope of practice. You will be accountable for your own actions and contribute to maintaining a physically and culturally safe environment for patients/clients and staff.
You will gain hands-on experience in routine clinical and technical support functions while developing competencies aligned with your enrolled qualification. This position provides a supportive environment where you can build your knowledge, skills and experience in nursing care.

HOW WILL YOU CONTRIBUTE?
- Support Enrolled and Registered Nurses/Midwives in delivering person-centred care and assisting with activities of daily living.
- Perform basic clinical and technical support duties, including setting up procedures, cleaning equipment and managing stock.
- Maintain a safe care environment and follow established guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Participate in quality improvement and research activities through accurate data recording and reporting, while developing clinical skills within scope of practice.

WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED TO KNOW/WHAT IS ESSENTIAL FOR SUCCESS?
Working in this environment, it is important to us that we only employ people with the upmost integrity and commitment to serving the South Australian community and its visitors to the highest possible standards. To ensure that we meet that commitment there are a few checks that you will be required to undertake. These are detailed on the Role Description, but are likely to include the following:
- You will need to be immunised. Please contact the Enquiries Person for this position if you have any queries. Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy. Further information is in the application for to help guide you.
- You will need to undergo employment screening, what you require is also on the front page of the Role Description.
- You must either be enrolled as a student in an undergraduate program in nursing or midwifery (can state year of program e.g. 3rd year) and have completed any training required by the employer relevant to the safe and competent performance of work at this level, OR
- Be employed on the basis that the person is, or will be, undertaking a course approved by the Registration Authority for the preparation of Enrolled Nurses, OR
- Hold a Certificate III or IV in one of the following health related disciplines:
- Basic Health Care.
- Aged Care.
- Health Services Assistance (Qualifications to include elective units recommended for AIN Acute care).
- Home and Community Care.
- Individual Support Work.
- Or such other nationally recognised courses approved within the healthcare setting by full agreement of DHA and the ANMF.
