WHAT ARE WE OFFERING?

This senior leadership role offers the opportunity to shape the clinical direction of the Emergency Department while delivering high-quality patient care. You will influence standards of practice, support training and accreditation requirements, and foster strong multidisciplinary collaboration within the department and across the organisation.

The role provides a platform to combine hands-on specialist care with strategic clinical leadership, ensuring the delivery of safe, contemporary and best-practice emergency services.

HOW WILL YOU CONTRIBUTE?

  • Provide specialist-level emergency medical care and clinical leadership within the Emergency Department.
  • Maintain clinical standards to ensure patient safety and support accreditation for ACEM, RACGP and ACCRM training.
  • Mentor, teach and role model excellence for medical staff while collaborating with nursing and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Develop clinical guidelines aligned with best practice principles in Emergency Medicine.

WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED TO KNOW/WHAT IS ESSENTIAL FOR SUCCESS?

Working in this environment, it is important to us that we only employ people with the upmost integrity and commitment to serving the South Australian community and its visitors to the highest possible standards. To ensure that we meet that commitment there are a few checks that you will be required to undertake. These are detailed on the Role Description, but are likely to include the following:

  • You will need to be immunised. Please contact the Enquiries Person for this position if you have any queries. Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy. Further information is in the application for to help guide you. 
  • You will need to undergo employment screening, what you require is also on the front page of the Role Description.
  • You must have a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent.
  • You must have an appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Fellow of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine
