About the opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Orthotists/Prosthetists team, at Adelaide’s leading tertiary paediatric hospital. We are seeking a Senior Orthotist/Prosthetist to join our team, providing expert clinical care to support children from birth to adolescence to improve their mobility for life, to run, play and dance.

You’ll be part of a multi-disciplinary care team delivering first class, tertiary level care including the design and manufacture of a wide range of orthoses for a range of complex needs, as well as prosthetics that grow with our patients as they explore what life has to offer.

About you

You’ll be an experienced Paediatric Orthotist/Prosthetist that drives innovation for optimal patient care, seeks to listen and respond to consumer needs and concerns, seeks to continue learning and enjoys mentoring early career Orthotists/Prosthetists to build their skills.

Key duties of the role

  • Provide assessment and best prosthetic/orthotic intervention
  • Formulate treatment objectives and treatment plans for clients with complex pathologies
  • Represent the O&P service on relevant working parties and committees
  • Lead and supervise team members concerning management of clients
  • Provide highly skilled clinical Prosthetic/Orthotic services across WCHN

Skills and Experience

  • Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification of Orthotists and Prosthetists Licences, certs or degrees
  • Proven level of expertise in Prosthetics and Orthotics
  • Thorough knowledge of current Orthotic/Prosthetic practices
  • Ability to work under pressure and to demonstrate effective time management
  • Ability to provide and promote high quality, efficient, and effective Prosthetic and Orthotic Services.
