WHAT ARE WE OFFERING?

This role offers the opportunity to step into a key leadership position, supporting the Homes Supervisor (Nurse Unit Manager) in the clinical and operational leadership of the unit. As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager, you will practice at a proficient level, delivering person-centred nursing care while contributing to continuity, consistency and quality of care across the service.

You will develop leadership capability through managing a portfolio that includes clinical oversight, workforce support, education, and service coordination. The role provides exposure to change management, performance processes, rostering, staffing, and service planning, while supporting the development of students and less experienced staff within a collaborative team environment.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Are you a nurse or midwife with consolidated clinical experience in an aged care setting, developing from competent to proficient practice?
  • Are you ready to accept accountability for your own practice and the guidance of less experienced staff?
  • Do you enjoy supporting ward/unit leadership and contributing to effective team coordination and service delivery?

HOW WILL YOU CONTRIBUTE?

  • Provide proficient, person-centred nursing care and oversee client care within the aged care unit.
  • Support the Homes Supervisor with leadership, practice changes and unit management responsibilities.
  • Coordinate and monitor care plans, ensuring appropriate outcomes are achieved daily.
  • Support education, supervision and development of students, new staff and less experienced nurses/midwives.

  • You must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold, or be eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
