Lead with Purpose: Associate Nurse Manager - Paediatric Unit

Join our team as a part time Associate Nurse Unit Manager - Paediatric Unit at Flinders Medical Centre as we seek an experienced Associate Nurse Unit Manager to provide maternity leave coverage in our dedicated Paediatric Unit 

About the role: 

  • Lead and develop a positive work culture while ensuring delivery of high-quality, safe patient and family centred care in a busy paediatric ward environment. 
  • Support the Nurse Unit Manager and other Associate Nurse Unit Managers in in clinical, educational and operational activities to support multi-disciplinary patient care, staff development and promote a positive ward culture. 
  • Provide expert clinical nursing care and oversee patient care plans to achieve optimal outcomes for paediatric patients. 

Duties for the role will include:

  • Provide clinical leadership and support to nursing staff in the paediatric unit
  • Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality patient care
  • Assist with staff coordination, rostering, and operational management
  • Support junior nurses through mentoring and professional development
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes. 

About you:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate,
  • Effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills,
  • Proven competence and demonstrated experience in paediatric nursing practice with experience leading and mentoring student nurses, enrolled nurses and junior registered nurses
  • Demonstrated experience delivering high-quality, safe care in accordance with National Safety and Quality Health Care Service Standards
  • At least 5 years post registration experience in paediatric nursing or equivalent experience.
