About the Role:

As a Facility & Grounds Officer, you will contribute to the effective upkeep of both the interior and exterior areas of the health unit, supporting high standards of safety, presentation, and functionality. Working as part of the Engineering team servicing the Port Augusta Hospital and associated sites, you will undertake a wide range of duties including rubbish collection, minor carpentry, painting, plumbing, mechanical tasks, and general grounds maintenance. You will support the organisation’s preventative maintenance program while assisting with stock control, forklift operation, and the use of various machinery and recording systems. Your grounds responsibilities may include plant propagation, pest and disease control, irrigation system maintenance, tractor operation, and garden establishment. In this role, you will also provide guidance to other staff and contribute to on-the-job training, helping ensure smooth, efficient operations across the health service.

 

About You:

  • Experience in building and ground maintenance.
  • Experience in the use of computer packages e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel.
  • Experience in exercising own judgment and initiative in the day-to-day execution of a position.
