Overview:

  • The Senior Data Officer has the lead responsibility for facilitating the surveillance function of rheumatic heart disease in SA by ensuring the accuracy and completeness of surveillance data bases, liaising with medical practitioners, health units and laboratories and coordinating the production and timely distribution of daily, weekly, fortnightly and monthly reports utilising effective quality control measures.
  • The Senior Data Officer has the lead responsibility for the interpretation, input and analysis of complex notifiable disease data entered into custom databases including bespoke digital tools designed to track and monitor infectious disease throughout South Australia.
  • The Senior Data Officer is responsible for the provision of administrative support and data entry duties within the Specialist Services Section. The maintenance and development of clear and functional standard operating procedures for the rheumatic heart disease register and notification.

 The Administration / Data Officer is required to exercise tact and discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality in order to optimise service delivery.

Criminal History Screening Requirement

Immunisation Risk for this position is Category C (minimal patient contact)
